From receipt of the manuscript to the public release of each book, publishing interns learn all the steps involved in making a book a marketable item.  Interns will also assist with the distribution process of each book, and will work to help maintain positive relationships with clients.

Duties

  • Create and edit catalog content and assist with distribution of catalog to nationwide booksellers
  • Gather content for sell sheets and help create other marketing documents
  • Help brainstorm alternative titles for books
  • Help develop unique sales handles for each book
  • Research aspects of the book industry including trends and innovations
  • Collect book information for company websites
  • Assist with maintaining authors' listings on Internet distribution websites

Qualifications

  • Proficient computer skills in MS Word, Excel
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop
  • Personable, organized and dedicated

  • Liberal Arts
  • Business
  • Communications

*Our internship opportunities are un-paid and are available for course credit throughout the fall, spring, and summer semesters, though you do not need to receive course credit to participate.
