From receipt of the manuscript to the public release of each book, publishing interns learn all the steps involved in making a book a marketable item. Interns will also assist with the distribution process of each book, and will work to help maintain positive relationships with clients.
Duties
- Create and edit catalog content and assist with distribution of catalog to nationwide booksellers
- Gather content for sell sheets and help create other marketing documents
- Help brainstorm alternative titles for books
- Help develop unique sales handles for each book
- Research aspects of the book industry including trends and innovations
- Collect book information for company websites
- Assist with maintaining authors' listings on Internet distribution websites
Qualifications
- Proficient computer skills in MS Word, Excel
- Proficient in Adobe Photoshop
- Personable, organized and dedicated

*Our internship opportunities are un-paid and are available for course credit throughout the fall, spring, and summer semesters, though you do not need to receive course credit to participate.
