While iUniverse offers some of the features that BookPros offers, their packages, distribution and publicity offerings cannot compare.

The top package at iUniverse includes both a customized cover and a marketing toolkit. This also includes a design evaluation to ensure that your book cover concept is suitable by industry standards and your book’s genre. BookPros also ensures that your book cover is right for your book’s genre according to industry standards.

Special programs that iUniverse offers include the Editor’s Choice, Reader’s Choice and Star Program, all of which provide authors a few extra services and rewards. At iUniverse, there is also a 50% author discount off of the list price for buying 250–499 books and a 45% discount for over twenty books if the author is purchasing for a book signing. However, with iUniverse, royalties are 10-20% of net sales. At BookPros, your book is not sold by the company but distributed to wholesalers and bookstores. For this reason, the payment from the distributor for book sales is forwarded onto you.
          
Contracts with iUniverse are non-exclusive. iUniverse also reserves the right to continue distributing your book for up to a year, pending termination of the contract at the author's request. This effectively closes the door to a deal with a traditional publisher, who will not want to publish your book if it is still in the hands of another publisher. All BookPros contracts are non-exclusive and, as you own the rights to your manuscript as well as all editing and design work done through BookPros, you can pull your book at any time to publish elsewhere.
          
As with BookPros, all editing with iUniverse costs extra, although it is not a requirement for publication. Editing is a requirement for all BookPros’ authors, in accordance with the high standards our distributors and media contacts have come to expect. The publicity services provided by iUniverse include press materials, co-op advertisements, a clipping service and Google Book Search. Although iUniverse has a partnership with Barnes & Noble, it is still extremely difficult for their authors’ books to sell through a B&N chain.
          
BookPros uses its media partner, Phenix & Phenix Literary Publcists to actively contact targeted media outlets and book reviewers that may be interested in your book. Each of our imprints is distributed through Ingram Book Company, the leading wholesale distributor of books worldwide. Additional distribution through Baker & Taylor is available for our Synergy Books and Ovation Books imprints. Our Synergy Booksimprint also offers nationwide in-store distribution through MidPoint Trade Books, and Ovation Books are distributed through National Book Network, one of the leading active distributors in the country.
