During the initial strategy development stage of each campaign, BookPros' authors travel to Phenix & Phenix's offices in Austin, Texas, for a full day of Author Media Training with the P&P team. The curriculum includes breakout sessions covering each media genre: print, online, radio and television. Authors participate in several on- and off-camera mock interviews, with critique by members of the P&P team.
Over the course of the day, authors learn to package their message into media-friendly sound bites, conduct effective interviews on a variety of topics, and qualify themselves as credible sources of information.
Media Training also includes one-on-one time with the campaign manager to discuss the proposed campaign strategy, review press materials and pitch angles, brainstorm additional ideas and help develop targeted interview questions to be sent out to media contacts. By the end of the day, our authors have the industry knowledge and tools they need to conduct an informative and entertaining interview.
