If I publish with you, will I get to keep the rights and royalties to my book?

Yes, BookPros' authors retain full rights and control of their work and earn the lion's share of royalties from sales.

How do I copyright my book?

We will submit your copyright registration and fees as a part of your publishing services package. Although we obtain the copyright for you, you retain full rights and control.

What is distribution?

Distribution is availability in the retail market and is the means by which the end consumer can access and purchase a book. Visit our distribution page to learn more about the various levels of distribution BookPros offers.

What different publishing options do you have?

We have three different publishing options: Ovation Books, Synergy Books and Bridgeway Books. Please visit our publishing imprints page to learn about each in detail.

What is an ISBN, and why do I need one?

The ISBN is the International Standard Book Number, a unique identification number used by retailers and libraries to locate books within the market. All titles published through BookPros are assigned an ISBN, which is then registered in R.R. Bowker's Books In Print database, along with the basic information about the title. The R.R. Bowker's Books In Print database is accessed by brick-and-mortar retailers, such as Barnes & Noble or Borders, and also feeds content to online retailers, such as Amazon.com.

Can I still sell books off my website and at seminars where I speak?

Yes. You may continue to sell your books directly to consumers. Also, keep in mind that the return on investment for books sold directly is substantially higher than for books sold through retail outlets.

How long will it take to publish my book?

We take great care to ensure that the final product meets both your standards and those of the retail book industry. Editing, designing and registering your book can take several months. From start to finish, the entire book production process typically takes 10-18 months. To learn more, please view our publishing process.

After I agree to publish with you, will I still be involved in the process?

Yes, BookPros' authors provide input throughout the publishing process.

I want to re-publish my book with you. Can I still sell the old edition?

When re-publishing a book, we recommend that you designate any previous editions as Out-of-Print to avoid competing against yourself in the marketplace.

After my book has been published, what will I need to do?

We encourage authors to develop a personal marketing plan to supplement publicity efforts once the book hits the market. A successful book marketing plan can include, but is not limited to: holding book signings at bookstores and other venues, coordinating speaking events, distributing marketing materials, creating a book-focused website, sending out a newsletter and writing contributed articles for local news publications. Coupled with your book's publicity campaign, your personal marketing efforts can play a major role in establishing your credibility as an author and spreading the message about your book.
